Nog ’n seisoen van harde werk, toewyding en God se seën wat vrugte afwerp.

Terwyl die stroper deur die lande beweeg, word ons herinner dat elke oes begin met geloof, geduld en baie ure se harde werk. Vandag oes ons nie net mielies nie, maar die resultate van ’n jaar se beplanning, opoffering en deursettingsvermoë.

Ons is dankbaar vir elke reëndruppel, elke werknemer en elke geleentheid om te kan boer.

THROWBACK THURSDAY 🏆🐏

One of the most special moments in Hatari Farming’s journey, and undoubtedly one of the highlights of our stud breeding career, was winning the prestigious Interbreed Floating Trophy for Supreme Champion Ram on Show at the Royal Agricultural Exhibition in 2024.

It’s hard to believe that this achievement was exactly two years ago today.

Our exceptional ram, OJ (Oorlog Jr) HE22-037, stood above all breeds on the showgrounds to claim the ultimate honour – a moment of immense pride, gratitude and reward for years of dedication to genetic improvement and breeding excellence.

Achievements like these are never the result of one animal alone. They reflect the commitment, passion and hard work invested by everyone involved in the Hatari Farming program.

As we look back on this unforgettable milestone, we are reminded that success is built one generation at a time.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Hatari Farming along the way. The journey continues, and the best is yet to come.

HATARI FARMING | WHITE SPRINGBUCK GENETICS EST. 2010

The Eksteen brothers of Hatari Farming have been passionately breeding White Springbuck since 2010, acquiring their very first animals from the renowned Jules of the Karoo.

Our journey began with an exceptional White Springbuck ram named “Witbaas”, measuring an impressive 15 inches at the time. Witbaas went on to leave a remarkable legacy, producing numerous breeding rams that have made a significant impact across the industry. His genetics can be found at several well-known wildlife breeding operations, including Bona Bona, Van Heerden Wildlife, HW Gutter, and De Jager Wildlife, just to name a few.

From the beginning, our goal has been clear: to breed White Springbuck with exceptional horn length while maintaining a pure, snow-white colour. Through strict selection, intensive breeding, and careful herd management, Hatari Farming has successfully bred multiple rams exceeding 17 inches, as well as numerous rams measuring over 15 inches.

For us, colour purity remains just as important as horn length. We continue to focus on breeding White Springbuck that are as pure white as possible — true “Snow Whites” — without compromising on quality and genetic progress.

With breeding rams currently measuring between 15 and 17+ inches, we are excited about the future of our White Springbuck breeding project and the genetics still to come.

The ram featured in this clip is Witbaas Jnr, enjoying his time among a select group of top-quality breeding ewes, all carrying proven 15-inch-plus genetics.
